Wonderful workshoppers!

Hello! Well, it’s a little late I admit but I HAD to do a little post about last Saturday’s beading workshop. I had three lovely students from all over London join me to learn how to make beaded tiger lilies, and I was thrilled at how they turned out.

Thanks to the lovely We Make London ladies for having me, and thanks to The Oak Studios in Hampstead for hosting the pop-up shop. For more info on both click on the links. And now here’s some pictures!

Now, I must to bed as I have a certain wedding to attend tomorrow, where a certain bride will be wearing a certain headdress. Pictures to follow, SO EXCITED!

Projects, projects…

It’s a busy time in Lordy Towers, but that’s all good as the devil definitely finds things for my idle hands to do. I’ve just completed a commission for a bridal veil, and handed it over this morning to one very happy bride. I really enjoyed making this so have secured a workshop to teach…

The Create Space Valentines Pop-Up Shop

Saturday and Sunday saw the fabulousness that was The Valentines Pop-Up Shop at The Create Space in Bethnal Green. Formerly Back To Basics, this amazingly cosy and friendly workshop became a treasure trove for all things CRAFT! And LOVE! Craft and love…what a way to warm the cockles. The work shop became a shrine to…

Space 2 Pop-Up Illustration Gallery, Watford

I am one of eight artists in residence at the re-launched Space 2 pop-up gallery from the 19th Jan to the 20th Feb! Space 2 is a pop-up gallery in an old bathroom showroom, so should be a very interesting space to work with. 20% of all sales go to the New Hope homeless charity…….

So, as part of the mini 4 Week Challenge for Zero2illo (which will probably end up taking me 4 months) here is Susan, completed in gouache and indian ink. We’ve been asked to blog our progress, so here she is from conception to completion! Preliminary sketch:Note the Scary Monsters album cover, oh how I LOVE…

Working on a new pic….

….here’s a little taster, a Photoshop sketch to decide the colour palette. I like her so far! Have been watching a lot of 80′s films for inspiration, it would seem I can watch Pretty In Pink, The Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller an infinite number of times without getting bored of them.

FUSE screening at The ICA

Photo taken during shooting in the green screen studio, check out the Fuse Youtube channel for a short video explaining how the film was made. Last night Fuse, the short film I blogged about earlier this year, was screened at The ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art) in London. Written, directed and edited by my extremely…

Digital doodles….

This image, called ‘Smile, Baby’, started life as a collage but I thought I’d tinker with it to see how it looked with really flat areas of colour. Here’s the original – the scan shows up the black outline as fainter than it actually is. I really like the fact it’s slightly off-register as I…

Playing with Photoshop!

So I’ve finally made my foray into the world of digital images! I’ve played around with Photoshop before but this is the first time I’m dedicating time to learning it properly. Here’s an idea I came up with after reading a book on Art Nouveau, I was inspired by the use of bones and organic…
